Psychiatric Service Dog Training (Veterans & Civilians)
Psychiatric Service Dog: $75.00 / hour
(PTSD, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Autism)
You will need:
- A diagnosis of a condition that would benefit from having a Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD)
- A letter stating your diagnosis & support from a mental health advisor to have a PSD
- A dog that can do the training & work required to become a PSD
- Commitment to the Training Program, which can vary from 6 months to 2 years*
- Financial & physical ability to care for a dog & do the training required
- Basic Obedience Manners, Public Access Training & Final Service Dog Training will all be covered; along with Rights & Laws of Psychiatric Service Dogs.
*The length of time to complete the Training Program will vary for each Team. Factors that will affect this are the dogs age, beginning training level, handlers training knowledge, ability to work with the dog daily & progress of the Team.
When beginning the Training Program, weekly sessions are ideal. Once a solid foundation is developed, every other week sessions can be done.
